Muskets

Although one artifact was only the fragment of a musket stock, the second (pictured here) was somewhat more complete. The stock behind the handgrip and trigger housing is missing, and the fore stock and barrel were broken off during recovery. The shape of the stock on the first sample and the configuration of the lock, hammer and trigger guard on the weapon here indicate that the muskets are Enfield Pattern 1853.
