Port lights were used to direct light into the lower deck of the ship and to serve as view ports for crew members.
Port Light
A port light typically consisted of a glass lens set in a brass rim. The long tapered lead sleeve had a soldered seam and served as a through-hull fitting. Remains of both interior and exterior flanges would have been secured with tacks. A number were recovered, most notably in the 2000 and 2002 dive seasons.
