Cask

Four small cask staves were recorded beneath a section of iron bar stock, immediately adjacent to the concreted remains of a cask of .69 caliber lead shot. This cask had collapsed into itself, with the iron hoops concreted into a single large ring. This circular shaped concretion is filled with .69 caliber lead shot. Within the trench, several units contained three-concreted carpenter’s saws, which were recorded and recovered. A cupric alloy teapot lid and several pieces of lead shot were also concreted in this assemblage. All three saws retain their wooden handles, which are exposed outside of the encasing encrustation.
